You will get here and once you do we will all make sure you have a blast.  Anyone got any evenings open next week so we can get together and show K alittle bit of Mad town?

Yay!!! Can't wait!

I'm trying to coax wifey for a little dine out and have the kids babysat.

That would be great! Would love to meet Mrs. Philthy

I'm going to get into massive trouble for this  buuuuuut....

He said his wife Lazy not Amy. :-P

You're saying my wife is lazy?  Hey, Amy, I'll help you out with that Thurs. swim you have planned with Mr. Casserole.

No, Phil I was speaking to LazyMarathoner.  I forgot my commas.  He said his wife, Lazy(marathoner), not Amy.

Subject: RE: UPDATE: REROUTING....

1stTimeTri - 2009-06-19 8:16 AM

From my e-mail:

Subject Final HHH update

T minus one and counting....
The Horribly Hilly Hundreds is Tomorrow!  And it looks like the weather will be on our side this year with a high of 81 and mostly sunny skies expected.
Some important news about the route and construction:
Several roads in the Village of Blue Mounds are under construction.  Unfortunately, they were not able to meet their deadline.  What this means to us is some slight detouring in the Village.  We will announce the details as they become clear at both packet pick up and the pre-ride announcements.
There is also a bit of construction in the Village of Barneveld, which will detour you onto Hwy ID.  This detour is already marked with the Route Arrows (adhesive directional stickers on the roads).
And, County H has construction involving a very narrow passing of a newly installed bridge.  There is no detour involved, but please proceed with caution.
Packet pick up is at the Mount Horeb High School on Friday between 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm.  Saturday packet pickup is from 5:00 am to 7:00 ish am in Blue Mound State Park.  As always, we enforce our policy of each riding obtaining his or her own packet.
PLEASE BRING PHOTO ID when picking up your packet!  If you have a friend or relative who can't make the event, you will be able to pick up their packets after the event at the finish line party.
Some interesting statistics to share for 2009:  Only 18% of the HHH '09 are women!  Additionally, the percentage of you who opted for the 100k route is 47%, leaving 53% to be either extra brave or slightly insane as you take on the 200k route...
REI and Erik's Bike Shop will again be providing mechanical support before, during and after the ride.  Please thank our sponsors by shopping with them.
Elete Water is another sponsor.  You will find a product sample in your goodie bag, as well as samples at each rest stop.

If you are planning on stopping in Mount Horeb on Friday night, consider having dinner at one of our fine establishments.  Sole Sopori is a fabulous little Italian restaurant on Main Street.  Grumpy Troll is right around the corner on Second Street.  The Bistro is in Hoff Mall on Main Street as well.  And finally, Spring Garden has a wide variety of food to offer.  If you're staying in the area, consider visting the Mustard Museum in Mount Horeb, the House on the Rock, Botham Vineyards, the Cave of the Mounds or Little Norway.

A survey will be posted this year after the event.  Please consider sharing your thoughts and experiences surrounding the 2009 Horribly Hilly!  We want to make this the best ride we can for all of you, and do truly value your opinions.

I think I will close with another friendly reminder to all of you:  Please ride safely.  Be courteous to one another as well as the other vehicles you share the road with.  The HHH routes travel on very narrow, very rural roads.  Tractors and other large vehicles will be present.  Obey traffic laws by stopping at stop signs.  Ride no more than 2 abreast when there is no traffic, and always ride single-file when traffic is present.  There will be several Deputies driving the course this year, and you will be held accountable for any unlawful behavior you might exhibit.  So be save, and have fun!!

Picking the car up at Midway right after work. If there is still a Midway. Storms here are pretty bad right now. From the 49th floor I can see the storm rolling in from the Northwest. We're getting all sorts of hail and lightning strikes around the building. I've putting on my anti-terrorism and tornado parachute right now.

Anyway I hope the rain holds off up there until after I get the tent set up tonight. Wave you still crashin'???

Storms are supposed to be rolling through off and on all day today. With lots o' storms tonight. Looks to be a bumpy night for tent camping. If'n someone needs, I can open up my living room floor for "campers."

Deanna, depending on what the forecast says this afternoon, we may take you up on the offer!

We got hammered by storms for a few hours last night.  Lots and lots of lightning.

There's a bed available for someone at my house.  I'll be heading out bright and early Sat. morn to Blue Mounds from my house - Marshall, about 20 miles East of MadTown.  PM me before 4:45 p.m.  Right after work I'm heading out to Mount Horeb for packet pickup.

Yikes! Well I'm trying to teach my friend Mike that we tough it when camping ... rain nor sleet nor Green Bay Packers fans can keep us from camping. He's going to end up sleeping in the truck, I can already tell.

We've got a station wagon.  Not sure if it is long enough for me to lie down in though.  Tony, you would fit just fine!

Don't forget the Mount Horeb High School is offering a free night stay (less than 6 miles from the Blue Mounds start), but you would need to tell them that you would camp out there for the night at packet pickup.

Got in touch with Craig and AJ and met them up at packet pickup.  Tammy appeared just before I left, too!

Lazymarathoner (Kristin) called me praising Cronometro.  They did her well.

Let's have some fun!

It was so great to see AJ, Craig, Tammy, Kristen, bertgwen, WAVEDAWG!, mndiver (and wife Kelly), WHIZZZZZ and MissKelly, donnawhiz and her entourage Dan and Norm(?), didn't catch coredump nor Peter but Lori (Mrs. Peter ), and that super-killer speed freak on the bike - SCHMIZE!  Holy-Schmoley did he kick the 200K course with just finishing a little over 7 hours!!

Kristen (aka Lazymarathoner) decided to fly by me and bertgwen at the last 30 yards or so to "chick" me (the little shat).

It was a BRUTAL ride with it being around 82 degrees, humid, and HILLY!!!!!  IM Moo isn't so tough of a bike course anymore.
