Anyone know the weather for this weekend? If it's not good I might not drive over for the race.

High of 71 and low of 53, with clouds predicted for the am. It should be fast conditions! Even with all the issues, I'm really looking forward to racing!

Anyone seen any results posted yet?  I never looked at what they had at the race site and my watch splits are messed up.

So does anyone else think the 1500 yard swim on the Olympic was not really 1500 yards, or is it just me??? I shaved my swim time by 6 minutes on the last Olympic I did. Now I know my swim has gotten better, but I wouldnt think by that much???

And to the girl rider (I believe you were #1703 or around that) that stopped to give me a CO2 right before turning back into the park because I had already blown through 2, THANK YOU!! Thanks for paying ot forward, and I will do the same!

1500 yards isn't the Olympic swim distance. It's about 10% short

Yep.  Not only does Tom make the advertised distance shorter than olympic but he makes the course shorter than the advertised distance.  It's good for people who are new to open water swimming, but it wasn't even 1500 yards.

There was a sprint and a longer sprint.  There was no olympic.

Someone beat me to the punch; I had to forgo this one, but looking at the results, I though, GOOD THING!!!; my swim times, I know are slow, BUT, looking at those times, I thought I have no business trying an Oly right now.  Good to see I may still have a shot.  Any ideas how far short the Oly was??

Is an official Olympic around 1360 yards? My swim time was consistent with that distance so it seemed to me that the website should have said meters instead of yards. Even if it was short this was the longest tri I have done so it doesn't matter to me, I finished!

I heard the race itself was very well executed.  Kudos to DSU for that.

Frankly, though, the coddling attitude of "Let's make everyone feel good about their swim times by making the course short on purpose" pisses me off.

You should probably stay away from Longhorn then.

The swim was short, but I don't know how short. I also would like to know how short.

I thought the race was well supported and the location was ideal. As long as it fits into my schedule I'll sign up again next year.

It wasn't like that 2 years ago.  And Keith was not happy about the bouys moving on race morning.  Plan on it being right this year
