Swim
Comments: Pool swim, lane timers lost count, ended up doing 1 extra lap but after the race, sounded like about 20% of the field had the same issue. Seed times were good so all 4 in the lane were evenly spaced and were courteous when you wanted to pass. What would you do differently?: Keep track of laps better and warn the counter with 2 to go, even though that is their job. Transition 1
Comments: Transition inside due to light snow + mixed rain outside. Nice to be dry! Had to gear up for a cold ride so the T-time was slower than normal. This included pants, jacket, gloves, hat, etc. So longer than normal Bike
Comments: Rain/snow made visibility stink and the road slick plus the crosswind/headwind made for hard riding. Definately cold, wrapped handwarmers to grips so at least there was some warmth coming from the bike. Transition 2
Run
What would you do differently?: Overheated because of the cold ride in the snow, left on the heavy long sleeve shirt which would have been difficult to change though. Post race
Warm down: Got to watch my training partner transitions since he started 1 hour after me due to the wave starts. Good to cheer on someone knowing you are already finished. Event comments: Fix the pool timer issues and this would be a good race. Lots of volunteers but overall organization of the race was poor compared to other races I've been too. However, this was run by the swim club and the volunteers had great spirits and seemed to enjoy hosting the event. Last updated: 2008-10-21 12:00 AM

Wondered why we were going to race when snow flakes were falling.
Tom picked me up and we drove up to the race, watching the snow fall. Why did we choose to race again?
