Sunny
Total Time = 1h 10m 13s
Overall Rank = 34/118
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 5/22
Pre-race routine:

Got up early and ate a Pop Tart and showered. Got to site about 45 minutes before the race
Event warmup:

Transition had assigned spaces. Got my bike checked out, set up transition, did some light stretching and waited for my turn in the pool
Swim
  • 07m 50s
  • 437 yards
  • 01m 47s / 100 yards
Comments:

7 lanes divided into two with lap counters. Had to wait about 30 minutes before I got into the pool. Pretty pleased with my time and energy coming out of the pool.
What would you do differently?:

Gone a little harder in the beginning
Transition 1
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

Put shoes on after drying off. Seemed to take a long time. Couldn't do the running jump onto the bike (just not proficient).
What would you do differently?:

Practice more, not waste time drying off
Bike
  • 33m 44s
  • 10 miles
  • 17.79 mile/hr
Comments:

Got up to speed pretty well, but overall pace was a little slow. Could have gone a little harder, but overall my bike is my worst sport. Need to train more speed and higher cadence
What would you do differently?:

Train more and go harder
Transition 2
  • 00m 50s
Comments:

Got a bad left calf cramp as I was taking my bike shoe off.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, pretty pleased with this
Run
  • 26m 17s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 29s  min/mile
Comments:

Not bad overall for me. SUb-9 minute miles are where I'm at right now.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe try to negative split the run rather than just hold steady throughout
Post race
Warm down:

Stretch, get out of transition because another tri was starting (mini-sprint) and they needed us out of there

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Could have slept more the night before, but other than that, I was pretty happy with the race.

Event comments:

Good times, great volunteers and a well organized event. Finisher medals would have been nice as well as T1 and T2 splits (I just guessed above). Overall, though, only minor complaints. I will definitely do the again.
