I'm just curious who is going to do this race. I'm just excited really--first triathlon of the season. I read Chris McCormack will be racing.

Maybe some people who have done this course before can offer any pointers. I read the water will be 65-70. How hilly is the bike course?

I did it last year - it's a beautiful course and a fun race. Very local to me as we ride on it all the time. The loop bike course is primarily easy rolling hills and flats, with one short steep hill at Sycamore. Very fun fast course in general! It was unseasonably hot last year but I still had an awesome run. I was worried it would be cancelled this year because water levels were so low in the reservoir in February but it's up to normal levels now (I was just there on course Saturday actually riding a century) and looks great!

I probably wouldn't be able to until the weekend before Uvas - I don't have my training plan from my coach for that weekend yet (prior to that, I'm tapering for an early May race). I will keep you posted when I know what I'm doing that week!

It's pretty straightforward loop though - hard to get lost: http://www.mapmytri.com/ride/united-states/ca/morgan-hill/373664163...

The run is just literally on the road north from the reservoir parking lot 2.5 miles and then turn around and come back the same way.

Oooh, though looking at that mapmytri.com link - there is a mistake. You turn right on Sycamore, not left, and follow it to Watsonville Road. It makes a difference, because the short steep hill is to the right!

Only really tapering next week for Napa (sprint) and then I think I get a rest week and then start my last build for Boise 70.3, which is why I really have no idea what my training plan holds just yet... With the weather this nice though, you should get out and see that course whenever you can. At only 16 miles, it might be easy to drive first and then park at the Uvas lot to ride it.

Just thought I'd let everybody know...

I'm 99% sure when I registered for the race, (march-ish), the course was 3/4 mile swim, 16 mile bike, 4 mile run.

Now the usaproduction website says

3/4 mile swim
16 mile bike
5 mile run

I'm not worried about the race, my personal goal is to finish under 1:55. Anyone else?

It was a 5-mile run last year. They're new race directors for it though, so might have been a typo on the site.

Well, my time was something like 1:46.__. Official results aren't up yet. It was hot.

Got fourth in my age group (20-24) and missed third by 70 seconds. It was a nice race though. Chris McCormack got first.
