I have it listed as one of my short term goals but I've yet to sign up and pay the piper. I've toyed with the idea of just signing up on that day because the weather lately has me thinking we could have a foot of snow by then (But I don't want to fork over another 15 bucks or whatever). I also have NOT been outside on my bike yet....so I'm a bit apprehensive about racing so early. I'm hoping to get outside later this week once it warms to over 50 or so and praying for a nice Sunday for a big ride.

I also have not signed up yet, but am about 90% sure I'm in. I have done it the last three years (although new site this year).

I was in until I had knee surgery.  I am really bummed because it is a nice short race to start the year.

I just signed up to do this one again...last year was kind of a bust with the train tracks running through the thing. Looking forward to it this year.

Gonna be on the course somewhere taking pictures and ringing a cowbell. Get me your numbers ahead of time and I'll try and get photos of the BT people as well as Tri Fox people.

I'm in , its looks like this year is going to be a race without trains,  the new course shouldn't have to deal with live tracks so it you vs. the clock Cool

I signed up today. After yesterday's outdoor slow mo bike ride, I will likely be toward the very back of the pack. But heh, if its a nice day, what better way to christen the racing season?!

Has anyone ridden the course? Is there a MapMyRide route or anything?

yeah, I've ridden some of it. Pretty flat, some along lake, typically some wind, some in town, some by farm land.

Here's a map off midwest sports events web site:

Um, since I've never done a duathlon, I'm not sure how transitions work... same as tri's just sans the towel, goggles ... and do you wear tri shorts or bike shorts?

And since it's likely to be chilly (well, who knows) ... do you just suck it up on the bike without wearing something of warmth (due to issues of not really being able to strip off until transition)?

Um, yeah, these ponderings just entered my mind today... daaaaah.

Yeah it's the same as tri transitions. The important thing is to note the mount line.

Just to throw it out there again, if anyone needs a photo record of their suffering, I'll be there with a camera around my neck and a kid in tow. She'll take care of cowbell duties.

Just post or PM me your race numbers. If you aren't signing up till morning of, I can pm my phone number and you can text it to me.

I put a "request" like this before the Du Nats, and made it fun trying to hook up at the race. So, IF you want, post your real name, age group, kind of bike and if you know, what you will be wearing. We can use the names to look up race numbers. That way, we can find us BTers easier!

Pam Grande 45-49 Red Kestrel, bright orange sweatshirt BEFORE the race...not sure what during, do to the temp.
