5 Points for last week.
I was only able to get one ride in last week, and I promised the weekend to my wife so no rides over the weekend. I will get in one ride this week and a race this saturday so I should score some more points this week.

I need to drop out of the challenge. I had the flu all last week and I'm still not over it. I think it's highly unlikely that it is of the swine variety but it is the flu nonetheless. Fever of 102, coughing. I'm totally pizzed not just because I let down the team but because I can't train for probably the rest of this week. In addition, I'm out of town the last week of May, so this gives me maybe one week of riding. If it were just a head cold I'd HTFU and go ride, but I think the rule is "If it's in your head get out of bed, if it's in your chest, better rest." This is all in my chest (lots of coughing but not one single sneeze or runny nose), and I don't want it to turn into bronchitis or something worse. Heck, I've trained with sinus infections, but I don't want to risk respiratory problems. My apologies to my team. I was looking forward to getting on my MTB.

Are we going to have updates?  Both on team standings and individual points?

I think I have 33 to date.  But look out!  I plan to go tomorrow AND get two epic and gnarly rides in this weekend when I visit my old stomping grounds - Denver.

Points is going to be roll'n in....

Yes, I'll go through everyone's blog and pull the points into a spreadsheet to post. I just haven't had a chance yet. But if everyone can put their points for each ride in their blogs, that will be a big help. Updates to follow!

So I head out today for a nice little Mtnbike ride and aftera 3 mile dwnhill ride and a .05 miles into a long climb I start losing tork, WTF?  I look down thinking that I just dropped my chain.  After stopping i I noticed that the Macgyver fix on my back derailer during the whiskyrow ride three weeks ago, broke..  You got to be kidding 4 miles from the car i had to hike back up the 2 mile asesent.  So after a 2hr climb I was only about to score 2 pts for the total ride.

Now i have a busted rear derailer and a wasted 2.15 hrs, 2 pts only 2pts.  At least I get it back tomorrow after a $75 new derailer damn.  I will have to do some serious riding this weekend if possible...

So sorry this is late getting to you guys. 2 race weekends in a row is killing me on catching up.

I pulled all the totals from your blogs, so if you don't have ride points in your blogs, they aren't on here. Please let me know if anything is incorrect.

Here's where we're at so far:

What the heck happened to Team 2? Mike the Bear had to leave us, and I've pinged those with zero points to see if they still want in on the challenge. You guys have left Akidoman out to dry! If those with zeros are out, we'll just merge into one big happy group. Because that's just sad.

Still, I gotta make sure I hit the dirt. Akido's on my heels and has huge rides planned for his Denver weekend. I can't slack off!

So yesterday was MBAA Race #7 and aside from the disgruntled former bike shop employee running around re-marking the course and adding extra, as Elaine puts it, features (apparently a spare tire was added earlier this week) this had to be the best race yet.  Schwag aside the course was actually very fun, except for the 3 miles of climbing in the middle.  Sounds like the long loop folks didn't have as much fun as the short-loopers.  Anyway,

Hills - B (4.5 miles climbing of a 7.8 mile ride..ugh!)

Technical - C (this is what I feel like mtn biking should be like - a few rocks to roll over but otherwise some fabulous single track)

Time - A

So total is 9 points!  That is unless Liane disagrees with me...

So Denver was VERY good to me!  Man, I love riding there....

I loged in a 9 pointer on Last Friday and 10 more with an epic rice on Sat...  So I'm up to 58 points now for the month.

Check out the logs for the profiles....  They were a beotch, but worth every agonizing second!  The first ride , the first 2 miles averages 13.1%  with NO chances to rest!  But that down hill is well worth it.

I love dodging evergreen trees on some twising back country trail...  Splashing through some MTN streams...

However, the legs are feeling it.  I may be several days before I get into the dirt again.  I need some rest.

More info on the rides are in my logs.   I should have taken some pics!  The only real casualties during these rides is some scrapes and bruises from a small fall AND my phone broke the fall between my hip and a boulder!  Needless to say, I needed to buy a new phone that afternoon!

Short and easy today...

BTW, I have been wearing my Garmin for the last few rides and looking at them in Google Earth.  If anyone is looking for some rides in Vegas or Denver, I can forward them to you.

Long weekend coming up.  Anyone plan to get some rides in?  Since I have Friday's off as well, I have four days and will probably get a couple nice long ones in.  I may even try Bootled Canyon park.  I have never been there...

As a side note, I took another minor spill trying to get over/around a tricky rock section.  The bike got it's first scratches and the smallest of dents (I must have hit a pointy rock)  BOO!!!!

Going camping this weekend and will be taking the bike to Payson.  If I can sneak away I will ride trail 260 for a bit.  Need to get more points.  But I got to get back on my tribike, she is calling me out...
