8 Final Points today.

So I got a deal on a 2008 GF Hi Fi Deluxe for 2000 even (taking 650 off) - should I take the bait?

He also has a Superfly Frame and I could build a SS 29'er up for roughly the same amount.

Both are very tempting???

Is the Hi Fi the 29er version?

Yes, the steel blue color one.  I like this years color better but for almost 1K savings who cares right?

That SuperFly has me really tempted though.  Carbon frame - sub 18 pounds with front fork.  That sounds like a blast to ride!

It sounds cool for sure...

However, I tend to be old school (or uniformed).  I get nervous about carbon fiber MTB frames.  I know eveyone is making them, but considering how much a drop/crash mine, I wonder how well they can take a beating.  I have a couple dings on my Alu frames than I'm not sure how well a carbon fiber would hold up...

As for road frames, I think that's the way to go.  But I will probalby always stick to metal frames for MTB's based on how I abuse them.

Ah shucks...  Embarassed

It was easy since I just got back into it with a new MTB.  I had extra motivation and renewed passion.

I was thinking of doing another off-road tri this year, but the only one in the area is the day before Silverman, so I will have to choose.  Most likely Silverman.  BUT, I will probably do a MTB race later this month.  I never did a bike only race.  Only multi sport.

I was surprised how fun my first challenge was!  Thanks for doing it.  Maybe next year too!
