I don't do recovery drinks.  Do you do recovery drinks in lieu of eating food after?  I'm not knocking it, it's just not something that I've ever bothered to do.  I guess if I have a long enough workout that I feel like I need some recovery calories, I'm probably going to have some food afterwards.  And I have usually eaten at some point prior to the workout, so assuming that meal contained protein, then wouldn't my body just use that for muscle repair?

It is usually 1/2 - 1 hr before I get home and finish cooking with food on the table.

Skinny Cow Low Cal chocolate milk

or

Over the Moon Low Cal chocolate milk

Not a big fan of the syrup in my milk.

X2!!! These 2 brands are the ONLY chocolate milk I will drink. They're both non-fat and have 11g of protein..which is more than any other brand of chocolate milk available.

Usually Hershey's in 2% unless I pass by a Subway, then I get Shamrock Farms.  It's so good and they keep it practically freezing in the cooler.  And I may as well pick up a foot long roast beef for later while I'm there.

Good stuff!

I also like real Hershey's syrup in 1% from Swiss Farms.

If I am ending the workout at home then it would be organic 1% with Hershey's syrup.  If I need to hit a convenient store it is usually Garelick Farms chocolate milk.

I generally do food as well since most of my workouts occur immediately after work so it's dinner time when I get home.  BUT, if I happen to get in a workout at another time (like weekends) and I'm still an hour or two from meal time then I might do the chocolate milk thing.  In which case it's usually light or fat free soymilk with either ovaltine or hershey's depending on what I have on hand.

"Endurox baby.  Little bit easier on the stomach..."

X2 on the Endurox R4.  I begin thinking about it 20-30 minutes before I get back to the garage fridge where I have it mixed up in a previously emptied 64 oz. Gatorade bottle.  Nice and cold...

Artemis - 2009-04-23 8:42 AM Horizon milk boxes.  I usually buy them by the case.  They are 2% and I get either chocolate or strawberry.  They are nice because I can leave them in the car and drink them on the way home.

I get these too. But, if it's a special occasion like a 1/2 marathon or a really long run, I'll splurge and get a Promised Land chocolate milk (2%).  YUM-MY!
