Pre-race routine:

Hubby and I stopped for Dunkin Donuts: Egg & cheese on a croissant and a medium iced coffee with raspberry flavor.
Event warmup:

None. Forgot my effing HELMET in Binghamton (1 hour drive away). Ended up going to FOUR different stores. I thought I'd never say this, but thank goodness for Dicks Sporting Goods... Ended up starting ONE HOUR late!

Comments:

The first 1 1/2 hours was a-mazing. THEN the heat, plus running out of fluids because of the heat, plus the HILLS = near crisis mode. Uuuuuugh.
What would you do differently?:

Remember my helmet. Put on more sunscreen.
Post race
Warm down:

EATING! Garmin says I burned 5,997 calories. Ate a piece of pizza and a Reeses cup post event (had 2 Gatorades and an orange plus a gel during the event on top of 3 waters).

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The heat. When is it THIS hot in April around here?!

Event comments:

I have to give props to some of the volunteers. The event place was CLEARED OUT by the time we got back, but four women were there with some food for us. Unfortunately, because we were SO far behind, there wasn't anyone checking for stray riders, so if one of us had gotten hurt we would have been S.O.L. The "hills" made it nearly impossible to get reception.

Great ride! I have family in the Scranton area and went to high school nearby. Beautiful hills but to bike 'em...OUCH! Yeah, it is odd that it was so hot. Whew! But you finished in good time.

Bike tours and charity rides are a fun way to get some serious ride time in!  Nice job getting out there and enjoying the weather while working hard!

Nice ride!  It was pretty hot here too, and I have the bike shorts tan line (or burn line I should say) to prove it!
