Overall Rank = 91/229
Age Group = 45-49
Age Group Rank = 8/12
Pre-race routine:

Didn't sleep well. Had some real intestinal upset. Had cereal and two bananas for breakfast and lots of coffee. Spent some time with Kathy and the girls. Emily was very nervous as well.
Event warmup:

Nothing in particular. Tried to focus on having fun for my first race.
Swim
  • 07m 14s
  • 200 yards
  • 03m 37s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

Cross lanes more efficiently. Need to continue to work on my breathing.
Transition 1
  • 02m 28s
Bike
  • 18m 45s
  • 5.4 miles
  • 17.28 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt great, passed many other riders. Was trying to save some juice for the run. Did not use bike shoes to save time since I don't have even pressure on pedals with bike shoes yet.
What would you do differently?:

Use nike shoes. More agressive, more pain.
Transition 2
  • 01m 4s
Run
  • 09m 23s
  • 1 miles
  • 09m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

Was breathing hard the whole way. Hardest run ever after a bike for me and hammered the last 20 yards.
Post race
Warm down:

Ate some fruit and a bagel. No stretching, to excited to think about it.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Newbie.

Event comments:

Great first race!

Very nice.  How was it to be in front of the camera this time, instead of behind it?  Awesome first race.  Next week already?
