I might be jock-strapping this one. I've never been to a triathlon and not raced. Want to see what the top men/women are doing during transitions, set-up, etc. Up until now, I've been faking my way through it.

If my training partner doesn't do this one, then we might just come up there for S-A-G.

Best of luck to the racers.

This will be my first time doing this race. Anyone done this one before? Any info you can share would be great.

I haven't done this race before but I did go through the bike course. It is very flat for the first 5 miles, then it starts to get technical with lot of turns, old farm roads with potholes and rolling hills. The last couple of miles are flat again. The whole course is surrounded by open fields so if it gets windy, you will really feel it out there.

I will be there.  First race this season and first race since knee scope 9 weeks ago.  I just hope to finish strong.  I have no idea of what time I might get.

Caps are completely optional in pool swims. And for future info, they give you one for open water swims.

Take a look at some of the race reports from previous years.

If the bike course is the same as last year, be careful for loose gravel/sand
on some of the corners. Particularly on the corners after a downhill.

Run was mostly flat and shaded. One hill that I remember was about the halfway point
of the run.

Good luck...Have fun.

I will be there...2nd Tri for me and just like St. Patrick's Day it looks like we're in for some rain.  At least it will be about 30 degrees warmer.  Good luck all!

Fun race today. Hope everyone did well. The weather held up with no rain which was nice. Some light drizzle after I was finished and for the later finishers, but nothing heavy at all.

Finish area was completely flooded so it was moved next to transition. Part of the bike course was flooded so it was modified with 2 loops in the middle of it. Railroad crossing arms malfunctioned and were stuck down but guys were there and manually lifting them for bikers. They were fixed by the time I finished the bike. The run course was apparently different from previous years as it was really hilly. I swear it was only flat for the last 3/4 of a mile. That's okay though, it was a fun course that went through downtown McKinney.

The McKinney Kiwanis club with the help of Playtri put on a really good race this year despite all the last minute changes. They always have tons of volunteers out there which is awesome and lots of pizza and donuts and all sorts of other food. They even gave me a full pizza and a bunch of oranges when I was leaving because they had so much left over and were just trying to get rid of it. Sweet.

x2 on the fun. That run was hilly. Couldn't figure out why I couldn't get my legs back after the bike...Oh yeah, its all up hill!
It was the first time I have done this race and it went off without a hitch. The RD and PlayTri did a great job on this one, especially considering all of the weather obstacles.

This was my first and I learned alot about what NOT to do on the next one. When I rounded the corner of the school at the start of the run, my internal cussing took over... what kind of sadistic &*%^$ puts a hill right at the beginning ?

Well I didnt die and in the end it was alot of fun. I do have to say that everyone was really encouraging, the volunteers were awesome and the officials couldn't have been more helpful, especially to someone who didnt have a clue what was going on.

I'll definitley be doing another in the not so distant future.
