First run I was feeling good. I was a little hesitant to push it much more not knowing what I could do yet this season run wise. It was HARD not to take off with the fasties, but I held to my pace. It did pay off later in the second run
What would you do differently?:

nothing first race since last year and first race post surgery

I lost a bit here due to not keeping my shoes on my bike. It was all wet when I got there and I wanted to wear socks today. I can handle wet feet, wet socks are icky
What would you do differently?:

be ok with icky socks :)

Comments:

I was bummed at first by my bike performance, but then when I saw the results I was happy. It was mostly all crosswinds or headwinds so it was difficult to push for me. My left leg still automatically wants to take the brunt of everything off my right knee when pushing so my hammy and quad on my left leg were pissed!

Only one girl touched 20mph, the rest of us were in the 18's, only about 5 of us even were over 18 the rest under 17. So I hung with the top 5 on the bike, which is great for me where I am at right now.

Comments:

This run started badly, ended great. My left leg was yelling at me and the calf was balling up from taking the brunt of the bike, but after about a half mile it cooled down. I was holding around 7:45s no problem, but a little nervous that I would blow up. It never happened and at the turn around, I got to see where the girls in front and behind me where. I had about a minute or so each way, so I knew I wouldnt be catching the girl in front of me, and knew that I wouldnt get caught by the girl behind me if I just maintained that pace. I felt I could have even pushed harder which was a nice surprise! But I knew I couldnt catch the girl in front of me so I just put it on autopilot and coasted in. No need for puke effort and more knee strain to not gain a place!

Event comments:

I was very happy with this race. I was pleasantly surprised with my run. I was not sure how that would hold up, or if I would get some aches and pains in the knee that pop up every now and then, but all systems were a go.
