Thank you all for volunteering, I appreciate it already. 

I have volunteered the last 2 years, one at a run aid station and one at a bike aid station.  I have to say that the run station was more fun only based on the fact you didn't have to work about someone ripping your arm off doing 20-30MPH and trying to grab a bottle.  Other than that they were both cool.

If you volunteer for any shift, you get a wristband. The wristband is what gets you priority sign up on Monday. And, yah, if you sign up on Monday, you've got your spot. (Well, when you pay anyway.)

Now that you have to pay on site, I think the demand will be way down and you can register online without problems.

Now that Ironman was sold, it will be interesting to see what the 2010 prices will be.

I'll be coming over for a race on Saturday and want to be part of IMWI too.  I am not sure what to volunteer for...there are so many options.

Does anybody want a buddy for their shift/station?

Nevermind,I know what a catcher does now.

Anyway, I volunteered for sag wagon all day. I wanted to do food delivery or course marshal, but those were taken. If I still had my Honda Goldwing, I'd have done motorcycles.

ahhhhhh....what? sold to who? more expensive than $500 it currently is?

You guys are so so great!  I volunteered last year and signed up the next day and it just makes me so emotional to know there will be so many of my BT friends out there cheering us on.  THANK YOU!

A catcher is a very memorable job.  You spend the night at the finish line walking with people immediately after they cross the finishline... helping them drop off chips, get their medals, tee shirts, results and their pictures taken.  I did it between 9-12 last year and met so many amazing people... one of which pulled me into her finisher's picture, which I now have on my wall for motivation.  I still talk to her and she may be catching this year... if you want to finish your night in an amazing way... sign up to catch.

You will definitely be inspired!  I worked the bike course two years ago prior to my first tri (Devil's Lake) and it was a great kickoff to the taper week and a, so far, two-year enjoyment of tris. 

I worked at the Square last year handing out wet sponges (aka "spongecakes," or "finish line tool kit" - they gotta look good for the finish!)   A fun, but wet job.  It was a bit funny that the runners look perplexed (probably not funny to them) as to what's in your hand, but as they got close their look changed to "awesome!  water!"

I just signed up to volunteer as one of the bike course sag wagons.  Although, I will be working directly with the coordinator as a "section captain" from like 4a-2p in the area he oversees.  Looking forward to it, and the opportunity to register for next year's IMMoo.

Do you know any specifics as how the sag wagon works? I volunteered to do that all day for the bikes. I have some guesses of how it would probably work, but I wouldn't mind some specifics before any official information.
