Swim
  • 05m 23s
  • 328 yards
  • 01m 38s / 100 yards
Comments:

started on the inside to avoid the pile up. did have a few people converge on me on the out section which made the swim cramped but rounded the bouy well and did a good job of holding a staright line coming back. did get a bit tired near the end.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Transition 1
  • 01m 12s
Comments:

need to run faster out of the swim. had a little trouble getting feet in shoes while riding.
Bike
  • 29m 22s
  • 12 miles
  • 24.52 mile/hr
Comments:

hammered up the first hill which left my legs in shock for a few mins. once a settled down i was caught by 2 people who i then paced off of the rest of the ride. hit a few bad spots where i slowed down but finished the last couple hills really well and then took the last downhill a bit easy to recoop for the run.
What would you do differently?:

hammer harder!!!!
Transition 2
  • 00m 59s
Comments:

struggled the get my run shoes on which cost my a good 5sec
What would you do differently?:

get better racing flats
Run
  • 11m 46s
  • 2 miles
  • 05m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

i really went hard from the beginning and plowed up the hill to make ground on some folks but once i reached the turnaround and was in striking distance to catch 1 or 2 guys i ran out of gas and could pick up the pace anymore. was past near the end by a guy running a 4:57pace (he ended up with the fastest run split). tried desperately to catch rob rindone but i gave up once we got back in the park.
What would you do differently?:

nothing but try to push even harder
Post race
Warm down:

beer, burger, cokes and ice cream.

Event comments:

jack and adams as usual put on a stellar event!!!!!

Pretty good early season race...

All you have to do is get a little better on that swimming, biking, and running part and you'll be smokin' freakin' fast.

Great job, that bike course is actually harder than you would think.  Lots of hard competition but solid as usual!
