I am just wondering. I had my first long ride where I stayed in aero for pretty much all of it. I am wondering what, if any, level of low back tightness both during and after the ride is considered acceptable?

If my low back is getting tight, what's the first thing I should look at as far as fit? I like to have an idea before going back to the fitter?

IMO, there should be little to no discomfort anywhere...

if you are tight, some adjustments should be made.

this is coming from someone with little knowledge, but who is comfortable on my bike in aero for my longest ride to date, which is 1:40.

I started off with all the spacers in my stem so my aero position was a little higher.  Then gradually removed spacers as my lower back flexibility increased, as well as my overall comfort & confidence when riding aero.  I'd advise against just getting as aero as possible as soon as possible, ease into like anything else.

thanks for the replies, what do you think would be the general starting point? Would it be seat height I would be looking at? Possible seat fore/aft positioning

Could be a lot of one thing or a little of everything.  Hard to suggest anything without seeing your position.

If I would suppose anything blind I'd say your hip angle is probably too closed.
