Swim
Comments: Swim was good. I did exacttlly as I expected figured on around 40-45 mins. My navigation sucks! I probably added 400m to the swim. The swim out had a cross current and I just worked it to the turn. On the return leg I pushed it pretty hard and got a cramp in the right calf when I hit the beach. Transition 1
Comments: Fast Transition, Could have been faster but I could not decide where to throw my wetsuit. T1 time was 18th out of 1050 overall T1 time was 4th out of 117 age group Bike
Comments: Bike was fast and good. I did not think I did as well as I did. I skipped some nutrition and think I padi for it on the run. What would you do differently?: Eat more. Hade 3 Gus and water/G'aid ZERO protien arrrrrrr Transition 2
Comments: Sat down to put my socks and shoes on. figued I would be running a awhile why not try and get comfortable T2 time was 171th out of 1050 overall T1 time was 22th out of 117 age group Also HR monitor took a crap so I stopped and took it off while going out of transition Run
Comments: WOW I dont think I had ever been so hot before in my life. I got off the bike at 3:07 and was running by 3:09 and was pretty pumped up. I figured "no problem, you can run a Sub 2 hour Half Marry, you have done it several times in training and ran a 1:42 last month at Gasparilla" Well needless to say I should not believe my own press. I ran the 1st 4 miles at a controlled 8:30-8:40 pace just trying to get in a groove. Than BAMMMM! the heat hit me like a Mack truck would roll over a VW bug! I mean seriously it was frigging hot. I live 6 hours south of the race site and don't ever remember it being that hot during a Tri. The good thing was the volunteeers at the water stations. What life savers and troopers they were! THANK YOU! Meet a few nice people durng the run and found out what a HIM is all about to me. Encouraging other to push on and celebrate with them win they finish as everyone is a champion. I never really understood that until Saturday after the race. Post race
