Pre-race routine:

Set up transition, used the facilities, had a gel 15 minutes prior to start, drank plenty of water.
Event warmup:

Jogged about 1/2 mile and stretched.
Run
  • 19m 22s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 06m 15s  min/mile
Comments:

Great run, was really humid and there was little breeze so I took water at each aid station and drank some and dumped the rest over my head to keep cool.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing for this leg.
Transition 1
  • 01m 14s
Comments:

Small technical difficulty when my right shoe popped off the cleat as I left my bike rack, I had to stop and re-attach it, lost a few seconds there.
What would you do differently?:

Make sure my shoe is on properly next time...
Bike
  • 1h 06m 50s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 22.31 mile/hr
Comments:

Tough ride, but I did fairly well. There was a lot of position swapping back and forth throughout the ride.
What would you do differently?:

A little more distance bike training.
Transition 2
  • 01m 46s
Comments:

Walked half of the distance to the rack. Legs were wooped.
What would you do differently?:

Need to high speed spin a little more coming into T-2 t let the legs recover.
Run
  • 41m 32s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 06m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

Good run except I did slow during the last 2 - 3 miles. Was a good overall performance for me though.
What would you do differently?:

Need more distance running training.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked, drank, walked some more and then stretched for a god 20 minutes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

More distance work.

Event comments:

Disappointed that this turned into a du from the original tri format, but was a good race for me. Too bad there were so many in my age group that likewise had a good race else I might have placed better in my AG. Note: If I had performed at the same paces during the sprint, I would have been top 10 and would have wn my age group.
