No crazy brick workout like you, but I hit that 21 mark for the first time too and damn did it feel good. Now, if I could only motivate myself to run more. crushed it, bro!!! lets keep it going, keep chop chopin baby!!!!! |

So, what's the problem? Not sure I see a problem here. problem? there isn't a problem. i just like to go fast. the faster the better. once i can ave 24-25 mph in a sprint race i won't be satisfied. |

Don't worry, I found it. It's up there ^^^^ But back to the OP'er, well done. |

Going from AVGERAGING 21-21.5 in training to 22.8 in a race seems about right as that is a significant increase in power. not only that, your alone in a race, so you dont have the advantage of being pulled along. the course is different, conditions different, etc.... Not sure how you go 22-24 on the way out and 24-28 on the way back and push 30 mph for "3-5" miles, and average 21.5. I think that is matmatically impossible. |

Were you really pushing it to the limit? thanks! majority of the ride was zone 2 effort, with 12 second jumps every 2 minutes.... definitely not pushing it to the limit....though I dont think I have much more yet as I believe the power required to go to 22-23 from 21 is significant, I would guess (this is a wild guess) 50-75% more. You can estimate the power requirements to go from 21 to 23 from the formula for a Kurt Kinetic road machine trainer P = (5.244820) * S + (0.01968) * S3 where S3 means speed cubed J |

I think that is matmatically impossible. 22.8 race vs 21-21.5 in training makes sense to me. no stop signs minor slowdown due to turns. single rides where I maintain 23-24 mph...i ride a 4 mile loop for shorter rides. but to get to the loop i have to ride on a heavy traffic road so i guess i maintain a slower pace...18-20 mph thru traffic. ok i can understand that. florida is not hilly agreed but it is windy. shouldn't affect group rides as much. i will have to pay much closer attention to the next few rides especially groups. |
