Just sent this to my athletes, figured some BTers may want to join.

- OWS will occur at Lake Peachtree starting at the Battery Way parking lot.  That's the east side of the lake (opposite Drake Field)
- Bike will leave the parking lot and be an out and back course that will have enough mileage for every caliber of athlete.  Maps will be provided to those interested.
- Lunch after the ride (buy your own)
- If interest is shown before Saturday, I will do a transition clinic at Drake Field.  Since your equipment is there, you can practice

5/23 (Sat)
Swim over and back (2K) at 8 am
Ride for desired time/mileage on an out and back course
Eat Lunch
2:30 - Transition Clinic if interest is shown.

5/24 (Sun)
0730 - SCT(3 hrs)
Brick run afterwards

5/25 (Mon)
OWS 8:30 PTC (If interest is shown)

That OWS on Sat. @ 8am sounds pretty sweet Dan, keep us updated on any changes to that schedule.  I won't be doing the bike because I have a hard ride on Friday, and then a long ride on Sunday, but I'll probably be hopping out of the lake on Sat. and going for a 6-7 mile run.

Awesome!  Shouldn't be any changes that I know of.  I'm sure you know, but there are plenty of cart paths to run at the lake.

You can join us on Sunday for your long ride if you like.  Leaving from Floyd Rd.

Yeah I'll be doing an 80 mile ride on Sunday, so that time sounds about perfect.  I could sure use the company because those 3-4 hour solo rides are freakin torture haha.

I'd love to come meet some of you for lunch and hear and observe the transition clinic. I may also be able to work a kayak for the swim. I'm a week out of surgery on the lower legs so unfortunately can't actually do any swimming or biking (just barely walking at this point) yet.

It really depends on who shows up.  But since it's the SCT, no one can get lost.  Out for time, back for time.

Where's departure on Sunday? I was planning on 3hrs more or less for Sunday but in my slothfulness, don't usually get out there quite so early.

I'm in for Saturday - think Alison is going to ride too so we can get lost together!

May also be in for Sunday.

If you get lost then you missed the only left turn on the course.  But then again, you'll have my phone number and a que sheet.

See you tomorrow morning!

Hey is there a separate entrance to the Battery Way parking lot other than that off Willowbend Road?  I remember how to get there for the PIT but I am not sure the way around the lake.

I think you may be thinking of Drake Field which is where the PIT transition area was. Battery way is across the lake on the other side. The easiest way is to go south (from Hwy 54) on Peachtree Parkway and turn right on Battery Way. The park/boat ramp will be the first entrance on your right.

Any time. You all were really good swimmers, even the "slow" people (which wasn't what I called slow). I'd be glad to come back out Monday morning if there's a group going.

I want to say thanks to everyone for helping me out on saturday during the swim.  Dan you were very cool to be so patient and make me go all the way and back.  I also want to thank my personal sighting coach aka kayak buddy who was very patient while I floundered away...If only I could have my own personal kayak in a race, it would sure make swimming straight easier.  Everyone was very cool and helpful and it really shows the quality of the people who do this sport.  I will check back early monday am to see if the monday swim is still on...with the nasty weather my guess is that no one wants to do the monday am swim... If you do, I will come too since ya'll know I need to practice!

It ended up being a great training weekend and thanks everyone for showing up.  Hacksaw, you were awesome with your Kayak!

We all looked out for each other and swam very well.  Then headed out for a very wet and windy ride.  I think all of our gear is still wet today.  I think we all learned something and that was great.

Monday we had about 15 people come out which was followed by Dunkin Donuts!  Oh NOW that is good stuff.

Thanks again for everyone that came out and participated.  Good work and I will be swimming out there more often and the season goes along.
