Pre-race routine:

Picked up Allan and drove to Picnic Island. Stopped at Publix along the way for a Cuban sandwich and a bunch of mini-cupcakes.

Comments:

My best Picnic Island run yet. Managed about 9:00 pace down the beach and got to the singletrack bottleneck before the backup got too bad. Skinned my knee a bit by being too aggressive getting under the cargo net.

What would you do differently?:

Start closer to the front. I'm slow, but apparently not quite that slow.

These races are a lot of fun. It's a wonderful change of pace from the average 5k.
