Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4 am and loaded up the mountain bike to ride to the race start from the 29th Street mall. It worked out well.

I had Fiber One Cereal and Stawberries and a cup of gas station coffee with a little H2O to boot. I didn't want to over due hydration like I have so many times before in other races.
Event warmup:

Rode the mountain bike to the race start and jogged a bit. Then some stretching...

I got to meet 2 time Ironman World Champion Chrissie Wellington at the starting line! Totally AWESOME! She was super cool! I spoke with her at the finishline too! What an amazing athlete and a great all around gal! :) She pulled out 36:58!!! WOW!

Comments:

Felt great over all! I always go out faster than I wanted the 1st mile on this damn race! I get all excited when the gun goes off and I take off like a Jack Rabbit out off Hell! I'll pace it better next year! Dick Dime and Kilo Dave... watch your back guys, I'm comin' for ya guys!!!! You too Dills! :)

Here's the splits-

Mile 1 - 6:06:84
Mile 2 - 6:38:56
Mile 3 - 6:54:84
Mile 4 - 6:53:42
Mile 5 - 6:39:08
Mile 6 - 6:48:47

I'm pretty happy with the over all time! I was shooting for 42:00 flat so I'm stoked that i beat that! 6:41 pace per mile... not to shabby!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really... I'm really happy over all with having a new 10K PR and feeling the fitest I've ever been in my life! I beat my best time from my highschool days of 47:38 and I thought I was pretty bad ass back then! Take that "1994 Sean"! It's time to meet "2009 Sean"! :)
Post race
Warm down:

Jogged/Walked 800 yards then bumped into Kilo Dave and chatted with that Bad Ass for awhile and then I got to chat with my other favorite Bad Ass Dick Dime! Great to speak with those guys... frickin' super cool guys and super FAST too! :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing really... This is the 1st year since highschool that I have been doing weekly workouts with speed work involved... I feel like it's paying off!!! I just have to keep working at it and have "Patience and Disaplin", as Kilo Dave once put it!

Event comments:

What can I say? It's the Bolder Boulder... It ROCKS!!!

Course: Last year I came straight off the couch for this race at 50:02 and the year before I was at 61:02. So, I think this course is going to see me getting a lot fatser over the next few years! The hills are getting to be anticipated and I feel like I know this course pretty well now.
