Pre-race routine:

Up at about 5:30, coffee, toast, and a banana. Took the dog for a walk and jumped on the T to get to the start!
Event warmup:

Meet up with some friends I was running with. Waited in a long line for the port-o-john and suddenly it was time to start!

Comments:

It was a great run. We went out there thinking we were going to have a pretty hard time becase we haven't been running as much as we should have. I haven't done any runs over 8 miles since the marathon. But- somehow our bodies all remembered! It was crazy. After mile 2, I just got into the run and my friends and I had a great time. Just chatted the whole way, enjoying the weather and the views. Felt great at mile 12 so decided to push ahead and ran a fast last mile. Somewhere around 7-ish. The whole thing was very enjoyable and I had a great time.

And this was a PR for me by about 6 minutes! Very happy.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, really. It was fun!

Warm down:

Stretched and cooled down a bit. Ate a banana then went home to shower for a cook out!

Event comments:

I had a great run but it didn't really seem to be all that well organized. I carry water so I was fine but my friends were wishing their were more drink stations because they forgot theirs. Also, at the end, they funnel everyone into the world trade center and it was too many people, and stuffy in there. Did not seem like a very good idea.

Congrats on the PR.  I don't think after all that marathon training you would have any problem with a half.
