Geez, looks like you kept things moving along too. And that 80km/hr on the bike, man, you are legend! Seems you played your strengths pretty well and it worked fine. What's few minutes lost on the run due to tired legs when you can pass hundreds on the bike! Congratulations on yet another great race.

This was a good challenge for you. It tested your resolve. A bit like my Morden Half last year. Unfortunately, it used your strengths against you. Sure, you could bike through the wall 'o wind better than most, but that totally used up your legs leaving you weak for your weakest event.

But you realize this and that is the most important part. The irony is that great cyclists usually end up being crappy triathletes, if they can't become great runners - or at least be strategic with their cycling. think of it this way - and this is my limiter. You push really hard and you get in 10 minutes faster on the bike than most. Those ten minutes turn into a 20 minute deficit on the run through slower running and walking.

Still. You overcame a great many hurdles, including wind and cold and junk yard dogs.

You did it. You finished. You finished in pretty good standing - and still standing, after your repose on the grass.

You are still one step ahead than 99 percent of the population who can't or won't take the risk and try something different and athletic.

Well done!

Wow, GREAT job in some tough conditions!

Your biking was awesome. Wow, you passed a lot of people on those hills! (I can't believe the dog owner though.)

Fantastic effort, and a great job! Congratulations!

That sounds like it was hard work. Well done. 80km on the bike ..I got scared just reading it. And for such "painfully slow" run it wasn't areally aweful time. Something to work on but you do have your knees to consider. Cool work.

Congratulations on a great race

You did awesome, I think you paced it perfectly. When you are so dead at the end that you can not sprint the last bit, it means you gave it everything you had out on the course

Great job

It sounds like you had a great race despite of the weather. It reminded me of all our races here in Iceland. You should come and race here, you are already used to the weather LOL

Well done!! And it can only get easier after this

Oh and 80km/h!!!! That is freaking fast!!!!!

Wow!  Thanks for posting - it was so descriptive I felt like I was actually there watching.  The bike was amazing - you were going so fast!  Too bad about the dog - blame the owner - not the dog!

Congrats!
