Subject: Visiting Dayton--Miami Bike Path

I found the Miami Bike path on google...looks like a long stretch of path designated for non-cars .

Is this a good path? Is it safe to ride alone? I'll me on Main St. inside of Dayton, can someone tell me the best place to park?

I didn't look at the website too closely, so the parking may be on that.

I take that back, I think I'll be on Main st, just south of the city.

It is an OK path but there are several closures just south of the city. If you pick up the path in moraine you can take it all the way down to franklin ohio. I live in Miamisburg (a southern suburb) and I live 1 mile from the path. If you are comfortable there are some nice roads heading west out of the miamisburg area that are rather untraveled.

Looks like we are north of the city, close to englewood...any suggestions from there? I would prefer paths, but I don't mind country roads as long as there aren't too many turns, so i don't get lost.

I ended up getting on in Dayton by the ball stadium and rode to Xenia...it was a great trail! Seems like an awesome system, I wish we had something like that.
