Comments:

I used to be a swimmer but due to shoulder problems I dropped out of the sport. A couple of years ago I started into triathlons and that has helped me recover some of my swimming ability. Well the patience is finally paying off. This was my best swim in 15 years. I was thrilled. One surprising thing was how hot I got. I had never before swum a race in a wetsuit in water this warm. For whatever reason, my cap worked it's way off with about 1/4 of the race left. It made me feel cooler. As it was hanging on my strap I pulled it off and jammed it down my wetsuit. As the neck opened up water rushed in. It was so refreshing. I don't know how people swim long races in wetsuits in warm water.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Breathed a lot

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Being old. There were only 6 swimmers older than me. :-)

Event comments:

Timing tabulation delays. Almost everyone, including me, was gone before the results were available.
