Age Group = M25-29
Age Group Rank = 3/15
Pre-race routine:

Breakfast directly after waking up (slimfast, 1/2pb&j, banana)
Listened to ipod.
Setup transition slowly
Event warmup:

None
Swim
  • 29m 6s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 46s / 100 yards
Comments:

Avgerage swim. I came in right about my usual time for that distance. Arms are still getting very tired in the wetsuit
Transition 1
  • 00m 51s
Comments:

7th overall transition time, 1st in AG. Transition went pretty well. I had trouble getting into my shoes on the bike. I actually pulled one of them out of the clip trying to get it on and luckily didn't eat asphault getting it onto my foot.
Bike
  • 1h 08m 32s
  • 26 miles
  • 22.76 mile/hr
Comments:

Great bike split. I was very happy with the time I turned in given the road conditions and course setup. I passed a lot of people and was not passed once on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m 58s
Comments:

I am still having trouble getting my running shoes on. It cost me a little bit. My transition was 53rd overall.
Run
  • 49m 20s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

Had very bad cramps from the very start of the run. I had to stop about every 10th of a mile on the first out and back. It was mostly a slow jog, stops, and some walking trying to shake the cramps. They were a little better the second out and back so I was able to keep a steady jog, and the 3rd out and back they lessened even more so I was able to hold a mid run pace. I was never able to shake them completely so I never got a chance to hit race pace.
What would you do differently?:

Figure out a full proof nutrition plans so I can avoid brutal cramps and allow myself to actually race on the run portion.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretch and hydration, ate about 45 minutes after race finish

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Cramps on the run.

Event comments:

Everything was good about the race and the organization except it took forever to hold the awards ceremony which sucks when you have to travel after the race. It would have been nice to get out of there sooner.
