At a family someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "I wanted be like my Dad, I want to be an alcoholic" I had no idea what the term meant but it sure got a reaction from everyone there. |

Partly because I figured I would not have to go through a lot of job interviews to get a job. But last year, my mother found some old notebook of mine from elementary school, where I listed my life goal to be a "motorcycle man". I guess I heard a lot about Evel Knievel at the time. Ironically, despite my other gear intensive hobbies, mrs gearboy has continued my parents' ban on my ever riding a motorcycle, and so I have never gotten to be a "motorcycle man". I chose to stay married instead. |

The three most recent were all pursued until I realized they were not what I wanted to do at the time. Cartographer (I actually got a minor in GIS). Teacher (I'm certified to teach in PA). From about 14 till 28 I wanted to own a bike shop. Now I'm 29 and still have no clue what I want to be when I grow up. Might go back to teaching or the bike industry in the future. |

I do remember my mom always telling me that if I wasn't going to be a wife or mom then I could be a secretary for a few years til I met the one right man. Often kidded with others that I went to ISU to get my MRS and failed. I guess I didn't fail--delayed gratification would be a better term, cause I found my hubby then.
