more questions!!  i'm sorry!!

do you guys suggest wearing a water belt during the run ( or walk, in my case )?  or is that too much extra weight?

do you put on your number belt for the bike and run or just the run?

i'm concerned about getting a nervous stomach before the race... does anyone take pepto bismol before a race?

thank you, yet again!!

Water belt - you'll probably be thankful for the water.  If you're planning on walking some, then you're probably not worrying about whether the slight weight addition will slow you down, either way, actually,  I'd vote "YES, carry water"

Number belt - I've seen people do either way... I don't think there's a right or wrong... you don't NEED it on the bike leg, but you won't forget it in T2 if you already put it on in T1

Nerves - I was nervous before both of my races, but I didn't consider Pepto and I don't know if/how it might affect a race(r).  My only advice is to remind yourself that you are doing this for FUN and fitness, and nobody gets nervous about FUN stuff (in theory) <-- I'm also trying a little peer pressure... haha!  It's NOT just for high school anymore

Good luck, have fun, stay watered, and I look forward to reading your race report

I have started wearing my belt/number the entire race. I just roll the number up for the swim and then unroll on the run. No worries. Good luck to all of you tonight.

it was hot alright. nice race though. The swim was .... well a nice refreshing dip in the lake.  The bike course had some rollers but nothing major. I didn't notice any wind and some of it was in the shade. The run man did i feel the heat then seemed to be all in the sun. I didn't feel good till mile 2. Congrats to all you guys. first timers and vets alike. can't wait till july hopefully it will cool off by then......... 1:10:28 10th overall 1st in age group.

Sorry I didn't meet up at the tent. Work delays caused me to arrive late. Unfortunately the heat got to me. I decided to wear the wetsuit and noticed overheating at the end, cramped up on the bike at  mile 8 but was able to ride through it but kept cramping during the run. I had tried to hydrate consistently. Gotta practice those bricks in the heat! I'm signed up for the next two.

Congrats everyone! I'm looking forward to doing this again so I can improve my time on the swim and the run. I have to work during the day of the next race but I want to do the last one for sure.

I had a fun time at the race last night too.  Congrats to everyone again...especially Courtney for getting that first one out of the way (and in style, might I add).

Thanks to Ranger Dave, I'll have some pictures to post shortly.  If anyone wants copies of the full sized pictures, PM me with your email and I'll get them over to you.

24 hours later, i still cannot believe as I post this message that I am now officially a triathlete.  Words cannot express how thankful I am to everyone at BT for their support and guidance throughout the process of getting my butt to the starting line.

BIG BIG thanks to Kristen and Jennifer for taking me under their wing last night and hollering out encouragement to me every time they passed me on the course.

and thank you to trish for those FABULOUS strawberries after the race!

you guys are the best and I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of you!!

on to the next tri...

Is it just me or are the pictures not up anywhere?

It usually takes a few days.  The Sadler Shots website says they should be ready either today or tomorrow.  You can register your name so that you get an email when your photos are ready.
