Run
Comments: My right leg has been giving me some trouble this week, so I figured I'd just take this as a nice, easy run, especially considering all the hills on this course. The park where the race was held is basically built on the side of a hill so there are very few flat areas. Luckily, I knew that ahead of time since I had done a race there before. The first mile of the course is basically downhill (that was nice but you pay for it later), the middle mile is rollers, and the last mile is mostly uphill. The run went well and my leg didn't really bother me until I was almost finished. I took a few short walk breaks on some of the larger uphills just to make sure I didn't irritate it too badly. It was a little warmer than I would have liked, but overall it was a nice run. Post race
Warm down: Got some cold water and a smoothie (strawberry, banana and papaya), then a nice massage for my right calf. Event comments: This was a nice race for a good cause. Lots of volunteers, plenty of food and drink for everyone. I'll be back next year. Last updated: 2009-05-19 12:00 AM

Up and out of bed around 6:30. Got dressed and had my normal PB&J on wheat toast with some Gatorade. Headed over to the race site around 7:15.
Not much, just the short walk from the parking lot to the starting area and some easy stretching.
