Total Time = 1h 26m 48s
Overall Rank = 136/309
Age Group = 50-54
Age Group Rank = 5/12
Pre-race routine:

Stayed at the Village @ Indian springs - Got up about 5:15, showered, ate a couple of PB&Js and headed with the wife over to High Falls...
Event warmup:

Not much - Mainly a little stretching before the swim wave...
Swim
  • 17m 15s
  • 656 yards
  • 02m 38s / 100 yards
Comments:

Not much to tell on the swim - Started off in freestyle, rolled over on my side to see what was happening about 150 meters in and realized I was swimming as fast on my side as freestyle - Just kept mixing the two together until it was finally over --
What would you do differently?:

Swim faster -- Gotta' work on that major weakness - It's too frustrating to be close in my AG on the bike and run only to be behind out of the water by 5 or 6 minutes...
Transition 1
  • 01m 16s
Comments:

I usually do pretty well on the transitions... But, the good thing about being in the 5th wave and so slow in the water is that it's not hard to find your bike :) They actually racked us in AG this time, and I was surprised to see most of the bikes still racked in my group {Except the 4 people that came out of the water way ahead of me that I would not see until the finish :( }
What would you do differently?:

Learn to swim faster...
Bike
  • 42m 27s
  • 13.75 miles
  • 19.43 mile/hr
Comments:

Only three people passed me on the bike, and I passed tons of people (Remember, though, I started in the 5th of 6 waves so there were lots of people out of the water before me...)
What would you do differently?:

Still need to pick up about a mile per hour on my speed to be in the race...
Transition 2
  • 01m 25s
Comments:

Actually slower than normal for some reason - I think it might have been that I was racked right in the middle on the far end of the rack, and it was a long run with the bike and cleats across the pavement after dismount... But, all-in-all, I'll take it.
Run
  • 24m 44s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

Just tried to keep my feet turning over to keep as close to planned pace as possible - Watched the Garmin to keep me right on... Didn't get passed by anyone, and like the bike I passed a ton of people on the run... {Just not the 4 I neded too :) }
Post race
Warm down:

Not much other than drink some water, great a couple of cookies and a banana and watched some other folks cross the line {My wife loves to watch EVERYBODY cross - She's got t be the best fan of everyone on the course...}

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Swimming///

you're fast!
according to your RR, it literally took you no time to finish!

edited: ah, i see you updated it!
Nice job!
The swim is the bane of my existence, too.
Good job on the bike and run!

Yeah - I found the secret - The finish line is only a few yard from the swim start
