Overall Rank = 239/315
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 27/34
Pre-race routine:

banana, got there 1.5hr early
Event warmup:

stretching, that's it
Swim
  • 11m 11s
  • 408 meters
  • 02m 44s / 100 meters
Comments:

first ows. keeping rythem was tough with crowd.
What would you do differently?:

try to keep to outside more. ignore all the contact with other swimmers, no need to stop swimming, just keep going.
Transition 1
  • 02m 55s
Comments:

putting on socks was too timely, gotta start biking and running sockless.
What would you do differently?:

no socks
Bike
  • 38m 22s
  • 11 miles
  • 17.20 mile/hr
Comments:

riding a mountain bike is tough.
What would you do differently?:

get a new bike. or, if on mtb, push harder and find more comfortable position.
Transition 2
  • 01m 29s
Comments:

happy with T2, had to wait for other person to clear my rack spot, but no big deal for first time. only had to take off helmet and put on hat. stretched and drank.
What would you do differently?:

maybe not stretch so much. killed 30sec or so and don't think i needed it.
Run
  • 19m 10s
  • 2 miles
  • 09m 35s  min/mile
Comments:

first 1/2 mile breathing was labored. couldn't fully inhale, only felt like i could inhale half way so had to walk. legs felt good though. no wobble leg or cramping. remaining 1.5m felt good. probably could have pushed harder but didn't want to over do it for first time. felt like i could go more at the finish.
What would you do differently?:

not sure. wouldn't walk if possible. increase pace.
Post race
Warm down:

short walk, gatorade/water. stretched quite a bit.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

swim: no ows experience
bile: mtb
run: breathing for first .5m

Event comments:

had a freaking blast, can't wait to do another and gradually start to push myself harder.
