WI_tri_guy - 2009-07-13 8:39 AM The National Dash was a really nice race this year, no dodging fire engines like last year.  BUT I have one fairly large complaint.  Why the he11 don't they have awards for the under 10 AG?  They just lumped those kids in to the under 18 AG.....  Yha that really encourages young kids to become involved.

Of course my question comes after having to explain to my 8 y/o why he didn't get a medal even though he was faster than the other under 10'ers.

Frankly, unless they make some changes, none of us will be involved in the National Dash next year.

Lots of times and the races there arent alot of the wee little ones doing the event.  As local races get good reputations and the word spreads the racing field gets bigger across all age groups, once that happens then age groups can be broken down more.  Don't give up on what I am sure (by word of mouth thru out the running community) is an EEEAAAWWWsome event!

Hey Davey!   I didn't see you there, but did see a few Donk's :P    I'm just a little peeved having to explain to an 8 year old that he didn't reallllly win.   But he was a trooper and so far he's not losing interest.

It makes it worse that I'm out for the whole season.  Never thought it would be difficult being a spectator, but it is.

Ha!  No broken equipment this year.  Actually I was in a car accident on Christmas Eve.  Tore up my shoulder pretty bad and had to have surgery to repair it.  I'm hoping to do the Dousman Duo in September but im sure it will be against my Doc's advice.....

How's the baby Donk?
