No. You get points whether you are an age grouper, Clydesdale, Athena, girl, or boy, by how far you finish behind the leader. They also give extra points for strength of field. If there is a pro, regional champ, national champ, racing that day. I don't know the exact formula but you can look it up on USAT website.
