Swim
Comments: Felt pretty good for most of the swim. Still over a minute slower then 2 years ago. What would you do differently?: Need to work on improving my swim times..as opposed to just maintaining. Transition 1
Comments: Long run from lake to transition area. Bike
Comments: Had a few stomach issues early in the bike and started having a pity-party. At about 10 miles in I told myself to HTFU and get over it! And I did. After that, I had a much better ride. Rode conservatively in hope of having something left for the run (why bother right?) What would you do differently?: Push a little harder on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: Ugh. I was a bumbling idiot. I couldn't get my cycling shoes off b/c my hands were sweaty. Wasted time that cost me 4th place. What would you do differently?: Learn to mount/dismount w/ shoes on the bike. Run
Comments: Felt fairly good coming off the bike. I was surprised to see how slow I was at the mile markers. I really tried to pick it up over the second half of the course and really dug deep for the last mile. I should have been running the first 2 miles at the effort and pace I did the last mile! What would you do differently?: I have got to learn how to really push myself on the run. I really believe that a large part of what is holding me back on the run is mental. Plus, I should have worn my garmin to help with pacing. Post race

Up at 4. Bagel w/peanut butter and coffee on the way to race site.
Ran for a few minutes on the paved trails while waiting for my swim start.
