Run
Comments: Placed myself near soem folks I thought were going to be decent 'rabbits' . Behind one guy for 2 miles, drafted nicely and then passed him for the last mile. Glad I did as I did not feel like running at first, but hit a groove and could see the finish line so booted it in. No rain yet!! What would you do differently?: nothing, felt good. Transition 1
Comments: OK, transition. Ran so fast and hard that I was mildy confused and delayed about 30 sec trying to find my bike, and then trying to decide if I needed another jersey. Decided to stay w/ BT singlet which was a good move. What would you do differently?: try the 'shoes in pedals' approach. I wanted to do this but of course I could not find any elastics. Bike
Comments: Showers off and on so we all had to be carefull. Lots of puddles. Got entirely drenched which actually was FUN! Just like being a kid playing in the rain. The rooster tails squirting all over. Feet soaked. The temp. was neither too hot not too cold, just right. My cycling effort was off from last year. Hills were harder than they should have. Perhaps this was the trade off from the run. However, I was pushing hard on the downhills (rain HURTS at 35 mph!:))and sometimes had to get out of the saddle for the up hills. What would you do differently?: used my cadence instead or in combo with speed Transition 2
Comments: Good transition, felt pretty much wasted and didnt know what I had left for the run. What would you do differently?: try the 'leave shoes in pedals' sequence. Run
Comments: Legs felt the typical transition feeling. Didnt feel like running, but worked on some positive self talk. Imagined seeing some BTers cheering me on. I knew it was only 2 miles so gave it everything I had left. Overall, I am pleased with this post bike run. What would you do differently?: nothing Post race
Warm down: totally exhausted. Knelt on the wet ground in a private place and let the emotions flow. Ate and drank a bit, Got sufficiently rained on to decide it was time to leave. What limited your ability to perform faster: nothing.maybe the rain, but overall happy with the race. LOL...having a 'cheering squad' of caring friends and family. I know I have lots of friends and family, but....no one goes to the races or asks about them. To see other folks there with that....sigh. But, having y'all here at BT is about the same!! :) Event comments: Great race, nice to start the season. really 'hooked up' the tri feelings. Very glad I perservered and did the race. :) The rain rocked!! Last updated: 2005-04-24 12:00 AM

woke up with plenty of time so no stress there, at a quick oatmeal and juice b-fast which has been a tried and true pre-race meal. Drove an hour, a bit frantic at finding the place but ended up with plenty of time. No rain yet! ;) but she was a 'threatin'.
simple stretching, short sprints, butt kicks, strides. Found my way into the middle of the pack with folks who I needed to 'use' as 'rabbits'.
OH....most importantly I wore my BT SINGLET!!!!:)
