Comments: This was a race with close to 2,000 participants and even though we were on a two lane road, traffic stopped up bad the first half mile. Which was probably a good thing, because it stopped me from going out to fast, especially because we went on a hill right away. Other than that, I just tried to not overheat. It was just too hot and too humid. I never pick up water on a 5K (at least I can't remember ever doing it). This time I grabbed a cup, had a sip and poured the rest over my head. Didn't see any of my buddies during the race, but found everyone quick afterward... What would you do differently?: Nothing... I requested cooler temps, but that didn't work. :) Post race
Warm down: Walking to the water station and grabbed a Subway sub from the food station. Then stretch for several minutes. What limited your ability to perform faster: The heat and the humidity. Event comments: This is a great race! Last updated: 2009-05-19 12:00 AM

Waiting all day for the race. I really don't like evening races. We had dinner at around 5PM. Then I tried to nap, but that didn't happen. We left for the race at 7PM, because they closed down the road at 7:30PM. Met up with the rest of the bunch and chatted the time away.
One lap around the parking garage.
