kstater39 - 2010-07-20 9:21 AM CONGRATS ALL OF THE BT FINISHERS.  ANYONE HAVE WONDERFUL PRAISE OR STORIES OF NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE OF HOTELS, HOUSES RENTED, OR B&B stayed in last year?  Trying to be ahead of the curve on booking for 2011.  Looks like it will be me, my better half, and my oldest princess.
The Hampton Inn at the Riverstone complex was top notch. I stay at a lot of HIs and this was one of the nicest I've been too. Free breakfast which they started extra early on race day and they were very accomodating to racers the whole time. It is about 2 miles from transition. Kids loved the indoor pool and I loved the hot tub after the race.

We stayed at Riverstone too and loved it. We stayed in a house on the water and it was super nice, would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express right off of 90 and the place was incredible.  Quick drive down to race expo/start line and the staff went out of their way for everyone.  Thursday, Friday, Saturday they had free dinner with plenty of free wine and beer for guests, in addition to a nice breakfast spread each morning.  They even asked us what else we'd like for dinner and after joking about blueberry and apple pie, as well as some ice cream to go with it, sure enough the next night there was plenty of pie and ice cream to go around.  My favorite was the late night fresh cookies they had sitting out late Sunday night after racers came back.  I'm not doing CDA in 2011 but when I got back in 2012 or 2013, there's no doubt I'll be staying there again.  Very friendly and they go out of their way for you.  Like, waaaaayyyyy out of their way.

Another 1-2 tri's during the next month and 3 marathons during the September-October time frame.  I hope to sign up for both Ironman Canada and Ironman Arizona for next year.  Perhaps some of you will do the same?  I have the bug!

Sounds like my fall/plans for next year!  I was thinking about Ironman Canada, but I liked CdA so much I might do that again.  I need to decide ASAP!  That said, I have an Olympic distance tri in 3 weeks, 20k run in Sept, then 3 marathons over 7 weeks (Oct/Nov).  After this fall though, and a 50 miler in May, I'm sticking to Ironman/half-Ironman events I think for a while.  Just so much more fun that running races!

Cheers everyone- hope your training is back in full swing and you're enjoying the rest of summer!

I sent them an email and just got this response back tonight (07/26/10), looks like you have a little time left.

"Hi, Travis!

Thanks for your e-mail and interest in the 2011 Ford Ironman Coeur d'Alene. Currently about 23% of the general entry slots for the event remain. Don't hesitate with any additional questions or concerns in the meantime. I hope to see you at the starting line soon!

No set time really, it seems like it closes when it fills up. You could probably email? Also, this thread is from the 2010 race, the following link is for the 2013 race. http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp...
