I'm trying to help out my Dad find a more forward seat post for his bike. He currently has a 31.6 seat post which looks like it's more geared towards just road seat posts. He has a road bike and is really liking sitting forward and riding in aero. Seems like the Profile Design posts are kind of the gold standard, but they only get as big as 27.2. Are there seat posts for a 31.6? Has anyone every tried to shim a seat post? I found some shims that look like they would work here:http://www.ebikestop.com/seatpost_seatpost_shims))618.php

Thanks for helping out!

You could try a Bontrager Race X Lite post flipped around. Not as forward as a fast forward but better than nothing.

I am in the exact same situation as your Dad is Ben.  Were you able to find anything?  If so, please let me know.

After doing some more research, it looks like the best option is a product by Thomson.  Its the Thomson Elite Set back Seat post.  I actually called a few of the big tri stores and they said this was the best option.  Its actually supported by Thomson and they recommend it for triathletes on the FAQ section of their website.    Here is the link to it on TriSports.com:

I just got a response from another post I made about this and I have a better solution.  They make "shims" that convert one size post to another size.  I just ordered a shim from trisports.  Here is a link to it:

I will let you know how this works out, but this definitely looks like a great fix

Hopefully my last post on this, but I got the shim last week and it works perfectly!  Getting the right shim to fit your bike is definitely the way to go
