I’m in need of a new bike for my first HIM in late July. I’ve narrowed my selection down to the three bikes in the title based on fit and availability.

A little background about myself. 6 ft, 180 lbs, 39 yo and in my second year of triathlon. I plan on doing only Olys and HIMs for the foreseeable future.

Anyone have any suggestions or advice to help me with my selection.

Or maybe I should just get an P1 and race wheels……

Can't go wrong with that group.  Assuming they are all MSRP, the Cervelo is $700 cheaper but certainly not $700 slower.  Use the extra money to get a Ultegra SL crank, a rear wheel cover, and a cheap aero front wheel on Ebay.

Ironically, I believe that the Cervelo P2C may be the cheapest one in the group. I'd go with that if it were substantially cheaper than the others. Else, all are awesome, and the one that fits you best is going to be great.

I'd ride any of them in a heartbeat - oh wait, I'm on a P2C right now! Embarassed

All three are approximately the same price. And all three seem to fit well. This isn't an easy choice.

Yes. The Trek is a leftover 08 and shop owner is will to drop the price of the Argon to match the Cervelo (with a drop in wheelset to R-500).

drop the price on the argon?  If it fits, that's the bike I get.  they're wicked

ETA - a little facetious, but you really shouldbe in love with your bike.  So whichever one talks to you if they're all equal in fit/cost

That was the problem. Both the Argon 18 and Trek were talking to me. The Trek was saying "Take me home to meet Mom." The Argon was just saying "Take me home".

My new bike isn't going to meet Mom!

I have an Argon 18 E-114 and love it.  They look great and are comfortable and extremely stiff.  Cervelo and Treks are much more common, the Argon stands out more in transition and is easier to find
