Swim
Comments: I was in the first wave and led most of the swim. The sun glare was horrible going into the second buoy, which made it tough to site. First out of the water, so I was happy with that. What would you do differently?: Not stop to make sure I was on course. I have never been at the front of a swim wave so this was new to me (especially because this was only my seocnd race). Transition 1
Comments: I had trouble with getting my suite off. The transition area was tight so I did this outside the transition. What would you do differently?: Work on getting my suit off more quickly. Bike
Comments: Fun ride as we passed spectators 4 times. I actually road with a 2 guys and we road off each other the entire time. Kind of fun. Transition 2
Comments: Not bad here. Run
Comments: Felt crappy for the 1st quarter mile then picked it up a bit. Finished strong. I felt like I had no energy on the run which is strange because I felt so good on the swim and bike. What would you do differently?: Maybe throw down a gel before the bike. I wouldn't have thought it would make a difference in this size race but maybe I would have felt better if I did. Post race
Warm down: Kept moving and put my bike back in my car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing really. Wasn't looking for a fast time. Just my second race so I was happy and had fun. Event comments: 1st time race, so based on that it was awesome. I've been to and participated in better races but this was great for a small time local race. Last updated: 2009-06-28 12:00 AM

Slept at mother in-laws, which is only 5 minutes from this event. So up at 5 to shower and eat a little. Did not eat enough...I felt this in the run.
Ran a bit, biked a bit and did a very small swim. Hung out with my wife and dog.
