Finish Strong Series
83F / 28C
Sunny
Total Time = 1h 59m 37s
Overall Rank = 151/152
Age Group = Athena
Age Group Rank = 20/20
Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5am, got food ready for the three of us, made hubby's coffee. Shower, bathroom, in the van and head to race site... 45 minute drive.
Event warmup:

no real warmup. Probably should have.
Swim
  • 06m 17s
  • 273 yards
  • 02m 18s / 100 yards
Comments:

Considering the lack of swim training, I really didn't do too badly. I will take it. I was out there to have some fun and race for me, not for a medal or anything else.
What would you do differently?:

Train more, no hammer gel prior to the swim, it kind of bogged me down a bit, other than that. Nothing.
Transition 1
  • 02m 3s
Comments:

cap and goggles off on the way to my rack, dropped them and into the cycling shoes quickly. took off like a shot and out and onto the bike and up the first hill. Best transition of my three triathlons
What would you do differently?:

not a bit
Bike
  • 51m 14s
  • 12 miles
  • 14.05 mile/hr
Comments:

I'll take it. Love it.
What would you do differently?:

Not a single thing
Transition 2
  • 02m 2s
Comments:

another great transition.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 58m 4s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 18m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

more like walk with a couple of jogs here and there, but with a numb foot, I wasn't too comfortable running. Mae-Lei went across the finish line with me, which was fun.
What would you do differently?:

Train more, but I still walk a fair amount. Wouldn't have made much difference.
Post race
Warm down:

flop on the ground, get feeling back in the foot and then clear out. I sucked, no reason

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of training.

Event comments:

The only reason I rated the course as too hard was the run. Too many blessed hills.
