Swim
Comments: Well, the first 200 yards went Ok and then for some reason I started having problems catching my breath. I've had sinus drainage for a while and it has flared up my Asthma at times. Well, I hung onto the pontoon boat at the turn around trying to catch my breath and tried several times to get going again and had to retreat back to the boat. Finally, I just started side stroking and luckily there were life guards out there with floaties...I just went from gaurd to guard and took short rests. This was by far the worst swim ever! Very difficult and I wanted to quit. But I did make it through it and made it out of the water. What would you do differently?: ??? Get new lungs/Sinuses. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: I was a little tired from struggling on the swim but all in all not too bad. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Not bad but I certainly wanted to go much faster. Considering I was 4th in age group and 22nd overall in the run I gather that I was hillier than what I thought! So, I guess my performance was pretty good. Post race
Warm down: Not much just walk around and stretch. What limited your ability to perform faster: Sinus/Asthma issues. This has got to get better. I may just have to sideline the swimming for now and just race Duathlons. Last updated: 2009-06-26 12:00 AM
