This will be my first Tri... Anybody know if the bike route is marked and easy to follow?  I wouldn't want to get lost during my first Tri.

Thanks!

Here's a link to some helfpul information.  You can print out the bike/run course as well as listen to the podcast they have for participants.

I plan on driving the bike course sometime in the next week.  Some of it (more than I would like) is in residential areas so I'm hoping the streets are well-paved.

When I did it the course was not marked.  There were volunteers at every corner (a lot of corners) directing you in the right direction.

maybe it cause im still new to triathlons. but shouldnt the transition area be secured?

Also is it common for the event organizes to ask i to put your bike on the ground?

Not common, very odd.

T1 had bike racks, but they were the kind where you had to position your bike right or the rack would lean up against your spokes....argh.  All transition areas were monitored closely by volunteers so I wasn't too worried about items being stolen.

It's not common at all to have your bikes on the ground, but since this was a non-USAT event and the entry fee was low I'm sure the RD did the best they could.  My T2 spot was actually clutter-free and I put my bike down without hassle.
