Great weather for the day - wish they would have had mile markers for the run. As I didn't know the course, I found it difficult to pace myself. Otherwise, the volunteers were wonderful. I'll defintely consider this race next year.

What a beautiful day for a race!  I have done this race each year for the past 4 years, and this seemed to be the best weather for it.  The only hiccup was the swim course seemed a bit short (where last year it seemed a bit long).  Other than that, it was another great edition of Lakes Country

As far as the mile markers on the run go, I am pretty sure that they were there for the run.  The bike and run shared the same first 2 miles, and then the 3 mile marker was just before turning onto the home stretch

Very well done event, though the bike course can definitely use a little road work.

Not sure if I'll be back or not. It was a bit humbling for me. I felt like I had a decent race, and ended up 20/31 in my AG and didn't crack the top-100 overall. I may stick closer to the cities next year - north country folks are too damn fast.

It was a good time.  It is nice to get a race in at home so the family doesn't have to travel to far to watch.  It was a nice way to end the year with good times, and finally a 1st in the Clyds division.

Hey Denise - congrats on winning your AG again!  Wow!

There were mile markers on the turn - just small signs on the right side of the road.

Funny factoid from my race:  I set a goal of 49 flat for the ride and guess what my actual split was?  49:00 - pretty cool!

Also, did you see the bike split for the overall winner Steve Sander, 38:34, over 2.5 minutes ahead of the number 2 biker and he averaged an incredible (I think) 26.9 MPH!

leapdog - 2009-08-23 9:26 PM Denise, You forgot to mention you won your age group AGAIN!! You're 2 for 2. Nice going!

haha - yea - I keep rakin in the awards - 2 ways to win AG - get faster or get older.

I took your advice this time and started on the left for the swim.  It was A LOT easier to stay on course. Thanks Jeff

Yes, congrats to Jeremy and Denise. As far as the mile markers - I must have just missed them as it looks like everyone else saw them on the course. Not sure what road it was, but that southerly part of the bike course was rocky! One of those times when I wished I was in bike shorts rather than the tri-shorts.
