Up at 6:00 to go through morning routine. Little cereal, grape juice. Tam and Ron showed up. Ron went and got hot fresh coffee, as compared to the luke warm day old coffee out of thermos. We waited for Ken. Got to event walked a half mile to registered then a half mile back to go potty then back to start.
Event warmup:

Jogged a little to start.
Run
  • 44m 10s

Comments:

Didn't expect much a got it. Wanted to hold a 8:30 pace and got pretty close. Started out with Tam, Kam, Ken. Lost K & K around a mile and quarter then Tam at 2 miles. No prob running my own race. Hit the three mile lap and it 10 minutes. I think I found the extra 2/10 of a mile. Fun coming through the village as there was a parade after the run, so the street is lined with people and some cheer ya on. Pushed hard the last mile and it felt good.

Decided that as public service I would my pace at the finish line to allow people the fun os passing someone at the last stretch.
What would you do differently?:

Lose some weight I'm up a few pounds.
Post race
Warm down:

Got some water and stood with Kam, Ken, Tam, and Ron.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Hucking an extra 30 pounds up hill.

Event comments:

Mile 3 was wondering what the hell am I doing this Y is home snuggled in bed, then 10 minutes after the race I was thinking man that felt good. I get so confused.

Good to get to run with some of the gang.

Don't worry.  I get confused too sometimes.  I didn't want to do it at all this morning, then I wished I was actually racing it.  Oh well.  Great to see you today!
