Eric - many thanks for all your assistance and help! We truly appreciate your time on BT.com, facebook and e-mail answering our questions - and, it appears, calming a few nerves!

See you in just over a week!

For what it's worth - I did the Quassy HIM that Rev3 put on in June and let me tell you - it was tremendously run, easy to find things, and everything was planned out very well.

Best of luck to all you racing next weekend.  It's great to see the growing success of the Rev3 brand - especially here @ Cedar Point as I grew up about 2 hours from the park, and spent many summer days in my younger years enjoying it.  I'm going to plan on the race for 2011.

Not that its accurate but has anyone looked at the weather today for race day? I'll save you the hassle.......72 degrees with a 60% chance of rain. On a more positive note, I just finished my last workout with any distance involved (50 miles). Off to watch Saturday morning TV for a change.

Nope. I tried to figure it out by doing various searches in the "Check if I am Registered" link, which is actually hosted on Active. But I had no luck. Seemed like slightly more than half of the people are signed up for the half. But the most general search you can do is by city, so you can only see how many from each city.

The Sandusky Register stated that there were 400 Full and 600 Half... Not sure how accurate that is.

Hey folks!  We are closer to 500 for the full and about 800 for the half.  Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Also, rumor has it that the chip seal roads are much better then they were just 3 weeks ago!

500 for the Full that is very impressive.  Are you still planning on having all the Age Group do a single wave start for the full with that many swimmers?

Have fun out there and enjoy!! What are your expectations? Set aside any time goals, use the swim for a warm-up (start on the outside unless you like the combat), stay hydrated and fueled on the bike and take the first 50 miles easier than you want to then walk the aid stations and think of the run as 26 x 1 mi intervals with food and drink after each interval!

Mainly - HAVE FUN!!!

Your fitness was done before then - the last month is tuning and rest. It may have been forced rest - but you'll come in fresher than most of us!

There are a number of first-timers for this one - I think we need to start our rallying cry - especially for the marathon.

No man (or woman) left behind!

The "chipped " roads aren't much better. Road the course on Sunday and some of rhe roads we thought may be blacktop smooth are just compressed gravel, litterally. The ols blacktop roads are extremely smooth compared to the chipped ones!!! Was very windy Sunday, pray there is little wind, you have no idea how big the wind may impact this race, made some parts difficult on the return trip.

On Saturday for me it's going to be, drop the bike off, hit the meeting, go catch a movie or something to keep me off my feet.

more importantly - where is everyone going to watch the Ohio State v. Miami game? I am not from Sandusky - any bar/resturant suggestions that have multiple TVs?

I don't have multiple TVs, but if Camper Village has cable hookups (I think it does) you can come watch it in the RV!

I'm not doing any rides on Saturday. If this were my 5th IM, maybe. But I don't really want a stiff neck on Sunday. Everything is going to go right!!!

Adam - Thanks for the info. I'm ready. Rough roads and wind - we will all have to battle the same conditions. Bring it on!

Also, for the HIM, I think you don't have to go on most of the chip/seal roads anyway.

See y'all at the practice swim and the expo!!!

The roads may be a little rough but the loose stone is a lot better than it was earlier.  Bumpy is Ok as long as I stay upright.

What is everyones taper week looking like?  I can't sleep, I have all these weird aches and pains, and I can't stop checking the weather, even though I made a pact with myself not to worry about the weather.

Also, I am borrowing Hed 3 race wheels from a friend, what wind speed would they become a liability?

Taper week is feeling good. Getting my packing done, tuning up the steed, and staying pretty well off my feet...catching up on some Mass Effect 2. Still haven't checked the weather, and have never seen the roads, so I suppose I'll show up with that childish naive mindset.

I'm bringing my H3 front, and my 404 (disc rear regardless) but it'll be a judgement call when I get there.

Forget the OH St vs. Miami game, the Michigan vs. ND game is the one to watch Wink

Taper is going great! My body feels pretty healed up and my mind is in race mode. Ready to rock and roll...
