Taper = weird for me.... I've been sleeping alot (also due to working night shift 7p-7a), I feel kinda achey, and I'm really trying to focus on keeping my eating in check.  Other than that I've enjoyed actually cleaning my house, grocery shopping, and just relaxing and watching movies!

My taper is going good.. except for the fact that my grandma died Sunday. If I can keep it together somehow, I'll consider that a success!

Taper is great. I got a massage today and then had a good swim later in the morning. I'm off work this week since my head is in the clouds anyway. That means I got to drop my daughter off at kindergarten for the first time today, so that was cool.

We camped out in the backyard two nights in the row.

I've been visualizing my race and making notes about transition.

Spent an hour cleaning every last bug off the bike and trying to smooth out any rough spots from my crash. Race wheels on.

I feel like a lioness up on high ground. Waiting. Ready.

Taper is going well.  Swam an easy 1450yds at lunch today.  Been  stretching a lot, getting lots of rest and  trying to eat well.  Gonna clean up the bike tomorrow and tune the derailleurs.  Trying not to watch the weather at all - it'll be what it'll be.  If its windy, so be it!  Just hoping that it doesn't rain so that the families and spectators have a nice day while we're out having our fun.

@rstocks3 I'm planning to hit a few rides on Saturday evening... or that's the plan for now. Work has been nuts so I have had little time to come up with my itinerary and plan, but I have all day Wed to figure it out... My mind, body, and bike are ready so the rest should fall in place

What is everyones taper week looking like?

My taper has been good. No issues sleeping. Actually, I've been catching up on some sleep (7 hours a night - talk about sleeping in!). Definitely have some aches and stuff but overall I feel really "springy" and ready to go.

I'm going a bit stir crazy though... really having to fight to stick to my taper plan and just take it easy!!!

Next challenge, containing the nerves, and excitement and holding back on Sunday

Someone on this thread has said that family members will be able to track the progress of racers through the Rev3 timing chip (not using the trakkers device).  There should be a link through the Rev3 website to find your athlete and see their progress as they move through numerous checkpoints.  I haven't been able to find that link on the website.  Anyone else have any luck in that regard?

Let's all pray that Hermine makes her way through the area before Sunday.

They posted on Facebook today that a link will go up on the Rev3 Website Saturday - indicated there are 10 or so timing points at various places on the course to check progress.

Sorry, I had to cancel it before they hit me with a cancellation fee.  Give them a call, though, they may still have it available.

Rev3ers,

I just checked the national weather service for the forecast on Sunday. I was surprised. It looks pretty good only 20% chance of rain 65 at 7AM going to a high of 74. Almost ideal conditions. The only thing not looking so good is the wind. It looks like 16 to 18 MPH. It doesn't say what direction so I don't know what this means for us in terms of the swim and bike, but it is what it is. We will be shoving off from NY in the AM I can not wait.

I can't imagine more perfect weather.

If the water temp is 72, which I heard it was, and the air temp is 71, then there should be any lake-effect wind. Just the regular kind. So that would be nice.

Seems like we're going to luck out!

many people are amazed the first time they see a Great lake.  erie may be one of the smallest, but it is still reaallly big.

Just got my race pack!!  #237.  Also, met Amy Marsh during the expo.  she won Wisconsin, Lake Placid is going to win rev3 and will race Kona next month.  Wow!
