Started right under the huge American flag. The first mile was relatively tight and I got clipped and cut off a few times. After that, it spread out a bit and we had room to run. I tried to run in the center most of the time to avoid the water stops, fountains, road camber, etc... I felt good through the whole race and the hills were not as bad as I had heard from some. The only thing that caught me was that I forgot that it was still a good ways after we made the left hand turn onto 10th street.

Should have positioned myself a bit more towards the front of the group and found some familiar faces to pace off of.

Found Zimmer right after the T-shirt tent then headed over to Park Tavern and downed a few beers and hot dogs. A good way to start the 4th.


I've lived in Atlanta for almost 18 years and this was my first Peachtree. It was a fun event and I'll plan to do it again.
