Comments:

I shouldn't have had the Chocolate Chip Muffin... I should have stayed with my usual pre-race meal of a Cinnamon and Brown Sugar Pop Tart because I had side stitches and and an upset stomach the entire race. Also, I was very fatigued today. I think all of the racing over the last month has me tired because I fell twice. The first fall was right at mile one and I was passed by 5 or 6 guys. This pretty much ruined my race because now I was stuck behind 3 or 4 slower guys who I could not pass because of the nature of the single track. It took me about a 1/2 mile to re-pass the group and by that time I was way out of contention of an AG win and/or a top 5 finish (1st/5th last year). Still I ran as hard as I could and I did pass a few more people on the uphill 1st half. I passed a guy/coach who most of the spectators and volunteers seemed to know and stayed ahead of him to the top... he was strong and for a while tried to overtake me. Once we hit the downhill single track I dusted him off despite another fall (OUCH!).
I finished strong but was nearly 2 minutes slower than last year. This might be because the course was changed slightly or because I got stuck behind some slower runners after my fall or because I had stomach issues or all of these things or I just didn't have my speed do to a bit of fatigue.F

well, you changed your pre-race meal, fell twice, and were bottlenecked by some slower runner's but still finished top 10.  Not to bad for a less than perfect race for you.  Nice job!  Glad they had your PBR at the post race festivities...

I wanna visit Breckenridge again.  My wife's uncle had a condo at the end of the 4 O'Clock run!  Beautiful place!

Did the altitude affect you, or were you there for a couple of days and acclimated quickly?
